Tell Fox advertisers: Drop Laura Ingraham

Every day, Fox News is becoming more blatant about its support for white supremacy. Last week, Laura Ingraham used her show to defend prominent white supremacist and anti-Semite Paul Nehlen.

Nehlen glorifies acts of racial terrorism, including the Tree of Life massacre in Pittsburgh.1 He calls himself "pro-white" and called for a race war to eradicate Jews and Black people.2

One advertiser already dropped Ingraham's program over her promotion of Nehlen, but the rest continue using their advertising dollars to spread hate and violence.3 These companies include household names like Google, Norwegian Cruise Line, Wells Fargo and With enough pressure, we can push them to cut funding for Ingraham's program.

Tell Fox News advertisers: Drop Laura Ingraham.

Like other racist Fox News hosts, Ingraham likes to pretend that right-wing extremists are actually blameless victims who happen to hold conservative views that are under attack by the media. On her May 30 show, Ingraham displayed an image of eight people in a graphic labelled “Prominent Voices Censored on Social Media." Ingraham defended those featured in her graphic as "people who believe in border enforcement, people who believe in national sovereignty."5

But the group actually featured far-right extremists – people who believe in hate. Paul Nehlen was included along with fellow hatemongers Milo Yiannopoulos and Alex Jones.

Nehlen associates with David Duke.6 He once published a list of journalists and media executives with Jewish Stars of David next to their names to claim that Jews control the media.7 As a guest on a racist podcast, he fantasized about "somebody leading a million Robert Bowers to the promised land," referring to the shooter who killed 11 people at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh.8

Pushing advertisers to leave shows like Ingraham's is a powerful way to defund hate. Even a right-wing propaganda mouthpiece like Fox News depends on advertiser funds to survive, and in the wake of recent advertiser boycotts, Fox News has been scrambling to appear legitimate.9 Now is a critical time to pressure advertisers to dissociate from the hate that Fox is spewing and cut support for Ingraham.
