End of Bush Parties - Frequently Asked Questions
Questions from Hosts
Do I have to be a CREDO Mobile or CREDO Long Distance customer to host a party?
No; anyone who is willing to celebrate the end of the Bush era is welcome to host a party.
How do I know if my party is one of the first 1,000 registered?
If you were able to register a party in our system, then your party is one of the first 1,000 registered. (As soon as we reach our limit of 1,000, new event registrations will be turned off.)
I registered a party, but did not receive my confirmation email. Help!
First, please check your "spam" or junk folders; unfortunately, party confirmation messages sometimes get misrouted into those folders.
If you can't find the confirmation message there, please 1) add "endofbush@credomobile.com" to your email program's address book, safe senders or approved senders list, and then 2) email us at endofbush@credomobile.com with a request to re-send your confirmation email.
Does my party need to be open to other CREDO members and activists in my neighborhood...or can I create a private event just for people I know?
That's up to you. When you create your party, you have the option to make your event "private" so that only those you invite will know about your party. Or, you can keep your event public so that it will display in search results and other progressives near you will have a chance to find your party. You can change these settings at any time on your "Event Host Tools" page.
What does "ten online signups" mean?
This means online RSVPs to your event from at least ten distinct email addresses. It does not mean signups for CREDO Mobile service.
Are parties outside the U.S. eligible for reimbursement?
No. Unfortunately neither our online signup system nor our reimbursement procedures are capable of handling non-U.S. addresses.
As a party host, what do I need to do to get reimbursement from CREDO?
- Agree to host an End Of Bush party, post your party in CREDO's online system and gather online RSVPs from ten or more email addresses.
- Save your receipts for allowable party-related expenses (see below).
- After your party, fill out an expense reimbursement form (included in your host kit), attach your receipts, and mail it no later than December 15th to:
CREDO Mobile
Attn: End of Bush Parties
101 Market Street, #700
San Francisco, CA 94105
What kinds of hosting expenses are allowable?
Things reasonably and directly related to hosting a party in your home or a public venue, such as:
- Groceries and non-alcoholic beverages
- Takeout or delivery food; i.e. pizza
- Paper goods and other party supplies
What kinds of hosting expenses are not allowable?
- Alcoholic beverages
- Dine-in restaurant expenses
- Advertising expenses
- Any other expenses that, at CREDO's sole discretion, are not related to holding a party in your home or a public venue.
Can I organize a party somewhere other than my home, such as a community center or pub?
Yes -- our event creation tools allow you to easily specify a location other than your home to host the party. (Please remember, however, that dine-in restaurant expenses are not eligible for reimbursement.)
Is there a deadline for requesting reimbursement?
Yes. Your reimbursement request must be postmarked no later than December 15, 2008 in order to be considered.
Questions from Guests
As a guest, can I just show up at a party?
No; we strongly recommend that you RSVP to any party you want to attend so that your host knows how many people to plan for.
As a guest, do I need to bring anything?
That depends; please check with your host when you RSVP.
