Old DADT petition that Kate messed up after delivery.

Since President Obama took office, 265 men and women have been dismissed from the military for being gay.

"Don't Ask, Don't Tell" is a terrible policy - one which prevents career soldiers from serving their country and which writes discrimination into the law.

Now, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand is doing something about it.

Unbenownst to many, Sen. Gillibrand has been working the Senate to try and find the 60 votes necessary to overturn "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." That she has been unsuccessful says a great deal about the sad state of the U.S. Senate.

However, Sen. Gillibrand isn't giving up. On July 26, she told the Daily Beast that "she has secured the commitment of Senate Armed Services Committee to hold hearings on "Don't Ask Don't Tell" this fall. It would be the first formal re-assessment of the policy since Congress passed it into law in 1993."

Sen. Gillibrand is going out on a limb for our brave men and women who continue to serve despite a ridiculous law telling them to keep their mouths shut about who they are. We need to let Sen. Gillibrand know we've got her back.

Sign this petition today to tell Sen. Gillibrand: Thank you for working to overturn "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." We support you 100%, and we want to help in any way we can.
